HUD Secretary Marcia Fudge to join in Cleveland for event on increasing Black homeownership

On June 18, housing and civil rights leaders will formally announce the launch of a national initiative for increasing Black homeownership. The Black Homeownership Collaborative is a coalition of over 100 organizations and individuals who have committed to creating 3 million net new Black homeowners by 2030. The Collaborative is led by a steering committee of housing and civil rights leaders, including the Mortgage Bankers Association, NAACP, National Association of REALTORS®, National Association of Real Estate Brokers, National Fair Housing Alliance, National Housing Conference, National Urban League, and Urban Institute.

The event will also feature remarks from HUD Secretary Marcia Fudge, as well as Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) and Rep. Tim Ryan (D-Ohio). The event will close with two panel discussions with housing policy, finance experts and Collaborative members on details of the initiative.
