NCRC has a long-standing commitment towards workforce training and development. The GROWTH Initiative further illustrates that commitment with a novel approach to creating jobs and uplifting low- and moderate-income communities across the country.
Through on-the-job training, participants in the GROWTH workforce development tract are appointed to work with home renovation crews through paid pre-apprenticeships/apprenticeships for approximately six months. Upon completion, the GROWTH program job developer works with each trainee to find permanent employment in the high-wage, high-demand commercial construction industry.
The process is designed to enhance the employability and productivity of new hires and where necessary provide additional workforce readiness training and classroom education with the help of local partners.
